Walker Categories: hep-ex Comments: 4 pages, 2 figures \\ We present new experimental constraints on the WIMP-nucleon spin-dependent elastic cross-sections using data from the first science run of ZEPLIN-III, a two-phase xenon experiment searching for galactic dark matter WIMPs based at the Boulby mine. Analysis of $\sim$450 kg$\cdot$days fiducial exposure revealed a most likely signal of zero events, leading to a 90%-confidence upper limit on the pure WIMP-neutron cross-section of $\sigma_n=1.8\times 10^{-2}$ pb at 55 GeV/$c^2$ WIMP mass. Recent calculations of the nuclear spin structure based on the Bonn CD nucleon-nucleon potential were used for the odd-neutron isotopes $^{129}$Xe and $^{131}$Xe. These indicate that the sensitivity of xenon targets to the spin-dependent WIMP-proton interaction is much lower than implied by previous calculations, whereas the WIMP-neutron sensitivity is impaired only by a factor of $\sim$2. \\ ( http://arxiv.org/abs/0901.4348 , 92kb) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ \\ arXiv:0901.4461 Date: Wed, 28 Jan 2009 14:02:19 GMT (142kb) Title: A Study of b bbar Production in e+e- Collisions at sqrt(s) = 130-207 GeV Authors: DELPHI Collaboration: J. Abdallah, et al Categories: hep-ex Comments: 23 pages, 6 figures, Accepted by Eur. Phys. J. C Report-no: CERN-PH-EP/2008-018 \\ Measurements are presented of R_b, the ratio of the b bbar cross-section to the q qbar cross-section in e+e- collisions, and the forward-backward asymmetry A^b_FB at twelve energy points in the range sqrt(s) = 130-207 GeV. These results are found to be consistent with the Standard Model expectations. The measurements are used to set limits on new physics scenarios involving contact interactions. \\ ( http://arxiv.org/abs/0901.4461 , 142kb) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ \\ arXiv:0901.4486 Date: Wed, 28 Jan 2009 15:33:59 GMT (38kb) Title: Search for one large extra dimension with the DELPHI detector at LEP Authors: DELPHI Collaboration: J. Abdallah, et al Categories: hep-ex Comments: 13 pages, 2 figures, Accepted by Eur. Phys. J. C Report-no: CERN-PH-EP/2008-013 \\ Single photons detected by the DELPHI experiment at LEP2 in the years 1997-2000 are reanalysed to investigate the existence of a single extra dimension in a modified ADD scenario with slightly warped large extra dimensions. The data collected at centre-of-mass energies between 180 and 209 GeV for an integrated luminosity of ~650 pb^{-1} agree with the predictions of the Standard Model and allow a limit to be set on graviton emission in one large extra dimension. The limit obtained on the fundamental mass scale M_D is 1.69 TeV/c^2 at 95% CL, with an expected limit of 1.71 TeV/c^2. \\ ( http://arxiv.org/abs/0901.4486 , 38kb) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ \\ arXiv:0901.4488 Date: Wed, 28 Jan 2009 16:07:44 GMT (126kb) Title: Observation of the Muon Inner Bremsstrahlung at LEP1 Authors: The DELPHI Collaboration: J. C57 (2008) 499-514 DOI: 10.1140/epjc/s10052-008-0779-z \\ Muon bremsstrahlung photons converted in front of the DELPHI main tracker (TPC) in dimuon events at LEP1 were studied in two photon kinematic ranges: 0.2 < E_gamma <= 1 GeV and transverse momentum with respect to the parent muon p_T < 40 MeV/c, and 1 < E_gamma <= 10 GeV and p_T < 80 MeV/c . A good agreement of the observed photon rate with predictions from QED for the muon inner bremsstrahlung was found, contrary to the anomalous soft photon excess that has been observed recently in hadronic Z^0 decays. The obtained ratios of the observed signal to the predicted level of the muon bremsstrahlung are 1.06 +/- 0.12 +/- 0.07 in the photon energy range 0.2 < E_gamma <= 1 GeV and 1.04 +/- 0.09 +/- 0.12 in the photon energy range 1 < E_gamma <= 10 GeV. The bremsstrahlung dead cone is observed for the first time in the direct photon production at LEP. \\ ( http://arxiv.org/abs/0901.4488 , 126kb) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ \\ arXiv:0901.4500 Date: Wed, 28 Jan 2009 16:47:21 GMT (74kb) Title: Di-jet production in gamma-gamma collisions at LEP2 Authors: The DELPHI Collaboration: J. C58 (2008) 531-541 DOI: 10.1140/epjc/s10052-008-0777-1 \\ The production of two high-p_T jets in the interactions of quasi-real photons in e+e- collisions at sqrt{s_ee} from 189 GeV to 209 GeV is studied with data corresponding to an integrated e+e- luminosity of 550 pb^{-1}. The jets reconstructed by the k_T cluster algorithm are defined within the pseudo-rapidity range -1 < eta < 1 and with jet transverse momentum, p_T, above 3 GeV/c. The differential di-jet cross-section is measured as a function of the mean transverse momentum ptmean of the jets and is compared to perturbative QCD calculations. \\ ( http://arxiv.org/abs/0901.4500 , 74kb) %-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ \\ arXiv:0901.3358 (*cross-listing*) Date: Thu, 22 Jan 2009 12:37:08 GMT (17kb) Title: Dark Matter Production at LHC from Black Hole Remnants Authors: Gouranga C Nayak (U. Arizona) Categories: hep-ph astro-ph.CO gr-qc hep-ex hep-th Comments: 10 pages latex, 2 figures \\ We study dark matter production at CERN LHC from black hole remnants (BHR). We find that the typical mass of these BHR at LHC is ~ 5-10 TeV which is heavier than other dark matter candidates such as: axion, axino, neutralino etc. We propose the detection of this dark matter via single jet production in the process pp -> jet +BHR(dark matter) at CERN LHC. We find that the monojet cross section in this process is not negligible in comparison to the standard model background and is much higher than the other dark matter scenarios studied so far. Hence dark matter production from black hole remnants can be searched at CERN LHC. We also find that d\sigma/dp_T of jet production in this process increases as p_T increases, whereas in all other dark matter scenarios the d\sigma/dp_T decreases at CERN LHC. This may provide an useful signature for dark matter detection at LHC. \\ ( http://arxiv.org/abs/0901.3358 , 17kb) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ \\ arXiv:0901.3818 (*cross-listing*) Date: Sat, 24 Jan 2009 10:14:38 GMT (311kb) Title: Residual effects of heavy sparticles in bottom quark Yukawa coupling: a comparative study for MSSM and NMSSM Authors: Wenyu Wang, Zhaohua Xiong, Jin Min Yang Categories: hep-ph hep-ex Comments: 5 pages, 4 figs \\ If the sparticles are relatively heavy (a few TeV) while the Higgs sector is not so heavy (m_A is not so large), the Higgs boson Yukawa couplings can harbor sizable quantum effects of sparticles and these large residual effects may play a special role in probing supersymmetry at foreseeable colliders. In this work, focusing on the supersymmetric QCD effects in the h-b-b_bar coupling, we give a comparative study for the two popular supersymmetric models: MSSM and NMSSM. While for both models the supersymmetric QCD can leave over large residual quantum effects in h-b-b_bar coupling, the NMSSM can allow for a much broader region of such effects. Since these residual effects can be over 20% for the h-b-b_bar coupling (and thus over 40% for the ratio Br(h->b b_bar)/Br(h->\tau^+ \tau^-)), future measurements may unravel the effects of heavy sparticles or even distinguish the two models. \\ ( http://arxiv.org/abs/0901.3818 , 311kb) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ \\ arXiv:0901.4532 (*cross-listing*) Date: Wed, 28 Jan 2009 19:23:08 GMT (17kb) Title: Implementation of Particle Flow Algorithm and Muon Identification Authors: M.
