The implementation is platform independent and can be used on AMD or NVIDIA GPUs, as well as on classical CPUs. On the AMD Radeon HD 5870 our double precision dslash implementation performs at 60 GFLOPS over a wide range of lattice sizes. The hybrid Monte-Carlo presented reaches a speedup of four over the reference code running on a server CPU. \\ ( http://arxiv.org/abs/1209.5942 , 197kb) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ \\ arXiv:1209.6015 Date: Wed, 26 Sep 2012 17:41:04 GMT (118kb,D) Title: Magnetic susceptibility of QCD at zero and at finite temperature from the lattice Authors: G. S. Bali, F. Bruckmann, M. Constantinou, M. Costa, G. Endrodi, S. D. Katz, H. Panagopoulos, A. Schaefer Categories: hep-lat Comments: 13 pages, 5 figures \\ The response of the QCD vacuum to a constant external (electro)magnetic field is studied through the tensor polarization of the chiral condensate and the magnetic susceptibility at zero and at finite temperature. We determine these quantities using lattice configurations generated with the tree-level Symanzik improved gauge action and N_f=1+1+1 flavors of stout smeared staggered quarks with physical masses. We carry out the renormalization of the observables under study and perform the continuum limit both at T>0 and at T=0, using different lattice spacings. Finite size effects are studied by using various spatial lattice volumes. The magnetic susceptibilities \chi_f reveal a diamagnetic behavior; we obtain at zero temperature \chi_u=-(2.08 +/- 0.08) 1/GeV^2, \chi_d=-(2.02 +/- 0.09) 1/GeV^2 and \chi_s=-(3.4 +/- 1.4) 1/GeV^2 for the up, down and strange quarks, respectively, in the MSBar scheme at a renormalization scale of 2 GeV. We also find the polarization to change smoothly with the temperature in the confinement phase and then to drastically reduce around the transition region. \\ ( http://arxiv.org/abs/1209.6015 , 118kb) %-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ \\ arXiv:1209.6031 (*cross-listing*) Date: Wed, 26 Sep 2012 18:56:04 GMT (250kb,D) Title: Semi-classical Dynamical Triangulations Authors: Jan Ambjorn and Timothy G. Budd Categories: hep-th gr-qc hep-lat Comments: 11 pages, 5 figures \\ For non-critical string theory the partition function reduces to an integral over moduli space after integrating over matter fields. The moduli integrand is known analytically for genus one surfaces. The formalism of dynamical triangulations provides us with a regularization of non-critical string theory and we show that even for very small triangulations it reproduces very well the continuum integrand when the central charge $c$ of the matter fields is large negative, thus providing a striking example of how the quantum fluctuations of geometry disappear when $c \to -\infty$. \\ ( http://arxiv.org/abs/1209.6031 , 250kb) %%--%%--%%--%%--%%--%%--%%--%%--%%--%%--%%--%%--%%--%%--%%--%%--%%--%%--%%--%% ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ \\ arXiv:1110.2297 (*cross-listing*) replaced with revised version Wed, 26 Sep 2012 08:51:58 GMT (250kb) Title: Beyond one-gluon exchange in the infrared limit of Yang-Mills theory Authors: Marco Frasca Categories: hep-ph hep-lat hep-th Comments: 18 pages, 4 figures.
