We find that the calculated beta function does not cross zero in the range of coupling we study. This implies that the theory exhibits confinement and mass generation, rather than a conformal infared regime. \\ ( http://arxiv.org/abs/1405.6916 , 33kb) %-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%-%- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ \\ arXiv:1405.6932 (*cross-listing*) Date: Tue, 27 May 2014 14:37:14 GMT (147kb,D) Title: Stability of Multi-Node Dirac Semimetals against Strong Long-Range Correlation Authors: Akihiko Sekine and Kentaro Nomura Categories: cond-mat.str-el cond-mat.mes-hall hep-lat hep-ph Comments: 7 pages, 2 figures \\ We study the stability of Dirac semimetals with $N$ nodes in three spatial dimensions against strong $1/r$ Coulomb interactions. We particularly study the cases of $N=4$ and $N=16$, where the $N=4$ Dirac semimetal is described by the staggered fermions and the $N=16$ Dirac semimetal is described by the doubled lattice fermions. We take into account the $1/r$ long-range Coulomb interactions between the bulk electrons. Based on the U(1) lattice gauge theory, we analyze the system from the strong coupling limit. It is shown that the Dirac semimetals survive in the strong coupling limit when the out-of-plane Fermi velocity anisotropy of the Dirac cones is weak, whereas they change to Mott insulators when the anisotropy is strong. A Possible global phase diagram of correlated multi-node Dirac semimetals is presented. Implications of our result to the stability of Weyl semimetals and three-dimensional topological insulators are discussed. \\ ( http://arxiv.org/abs/1405.6932 , 147kb) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ \\ arXiv:1405.7031 (*cross-listing*) Date: Tue, 27 May 2014 19:50:24 GMT (3579kb,D) Title: Running coupling in the conformal window of large-Nf QCD Authors: Markus Hopfer, Christian S. Fischer, Reinhard Alkofer Categories: hep-ph hep-lat Comments: 22 pages, 10 figures \\ Quantum Chromodynamics with a relatively large number of fundamentally charged quark flavours in the chiral limit is considered. A self-consistent solution of the quark, gluon and ghost propagator Dyson-Schwinger equations in Landau gauge exhibits a phase transition. Above the critical number of fermion flavours the non-perturbative running coupling develops a plateau over a wide momentum range, and the propagators follow a power law behaviour for these momenta. Hereby, the critical number of quark flavours depends crucially on the beyond-tree-level tensor structures of the quark-gluon vertex. \\ ( http://arxiv.org/abs/1405.7031 , 3579kb) %%--%%--%%--%%--%%--%%--%%--%%--%%--%%--%%--%%--%%--%%--%%--%%--%%--%%--%%--%% ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ \\ arXiv:1401.1033 (*cross-listing*) replaced with revised version Tue, 27 May 2014 09:50:51 GMT (276kb,D) Title: Ising anyons with a string tension Authors: M.
