Title: Deformations of the moduli space and superpotential flows in 3D SUSY QCD

  We study the moduli space of 3-dimensional $\mathcal{N}=2$ SQCD with $SU(N)$
gauge group and $F<N$ massless flavors. In the case of an $SU(2)$ theory with a
single massless flavor, we explicitly calculate the quantum constraint, $YM=1$,
and generalize the calculation to models with arbitrary $N$ and $F=N-1$
flavors. In theories with $F<N-1$ flavors, we find that analogous constraints
exist in locally defined coordinate charts of the moduli space. The existence
of such constraints allows us to show that the Coulomb branch superpotential
generated by single monopole effects is equivalent to the superpotential
generated by multi-monopole contributions on the mixed Higgs-Coulomb branch. As
a check for our result, we implement the local constraints as Lagrange
multiplier terms in the superpotential and verify that deformations of a theory
by a large holomorphic mass term for the matter fields results in a flow of the
superpotential from the $F$-flavor model to the superpotential of an
$(F-1)$-flavor model.

Title: JT gravity as a matrix integral

  We present exact results for partition functions of Jackiw-Teitelboim (JT)
gravity on two-dimensional surfaces of arbitrary genus with an arbitrary number
of boundaries. The boundaries are of the type relevant in the
NAdS${}_2$/NCFT${}_1$ correspondence. We show that the partition functions
correspond to the genus expansion of a certain matrix integral. A key fact is
that Mirzakhani's recursion relation for Weil-Petersson volumes maps directly
onto the Eynard-Orantin "topological recursion" formulation of the loop
equations for this matrix integral. The matrix integral provides a (non-unique)
nonperturbative completion of the genus expansion, sensitive to the underlying
discreteness of the matrix eigenvalues. In matrix integral descriptions of
noncritical strings, such effects are due to an infinite number of disconnected
worldsheets connected to D-branes. In JT gravity, these effects can be
reproduced by a sum over an infinite number of disconnected geometries -- a
type of D-brane logic applied to spacetime.

  We calculate one loop QCD Regge Field Theory (RFT) correction to the
propagator of reggeized gluons basing on the QCD effective action of Lipatov,

where Dyson-Schwinger hierarchy of the equations for the correlators of
reggeized gluon fields was derived. The correction is calculated entirely in
the framework of RFT basing on the obtained expressions of the RFT bare triple
Reggeon vertices and propagator of reggeized gluons. As the propagator of the
reggeized gluons we consider separately the cases with bare transverse
propagator and reggeized propagator calculated to one loop QCD precision. In
both results the correction violates the reggeization property of the
propagator and additionally some non-linear corrections to the propagator are
obtained. Additionally, this RFT one-llop correction changes the structure of
the reggeized propagator, a dependence of the propagator on the longitudinal
coordinates is arising in the expressions. The further application of the
obtained results is also discussed.

Title: On dilaton-assisted generation of the Fermi scale from the Planck scale

  In scale-invariant theories of gravity the Planck mass $M_P$, which appears
due to spontaneous symmetry breaking, can be the only scale at the classical
level. It was argued that the second scale can be generated by a quantum
non-perturbative gravitational effect. The new scale, associated with the Higgs
vacuum expectation value, can be orders of magnitude below $M_P$, leading to
the hierarchy between the Fermi and the Planck scales. We study a theory in
which the non-perturbative effect is sensitive both to the physics at energy
scales as high as $M_P$ and to the low-energy, Standard Model physics. This
makes it possible to constrain the mechanism from experiment. We find that the
crucial ingredients of the mechanism are non-minimal coupling of the scalar
fields to gravity, the approximate Weyl invariance at high energies, and the
metastability of the low-energy vacuum.

  We study the viability of spontaneous breaking of continuous symmetries in
theories with Lifshitz scaling, according to the number of space-time

With field theory tools, we show that symmetry breaking is indeed prevented by
large quantum fluctuations when $d\leq z+1$, as expected from scaling
arguments. With holographic tools, on the other hand, we find nothing that
prevents the existence of a vacuum expectation value. This difference is made
possible by the large $N$ limit of holography. An important subtlety in this
last framework is that in order to get a proper description of a conserved
current, renormalization of the temporal mode of the bulk vector requires an

by real numbers, and its limiting to describe nature to be understood in
relation to our appreciation that the quantum theory is a better theory of

  We study the thermalization, after sudden and slow quenches, of an
interacting model having a quantum phase transition from a Sachdev-Ye-Kitaev
(SYK) non-Fermi liquid (NFL) to a Fermi liquid (FL). The model has SYK fermions
coupled to non-interacting lead fermions and can be realized in a graphene
flake connected to external leads. After a sudden quench to the NFL, a thermal
state is reached rapidly via collapse-revival oscillations of the quasiparticle
residue of the lead fermions. In contrast, the quench to the FL, across the
NFL-FL transition, leads to multiple prethermal regimes and much slower
thermalization. In the slow quench performed over a time $\tau$, we find that
the excitation energy generated has a remarkable intermediate-$\tau$
non-analytic power-law dependence, $\tau^{-\eta}$ with $\eta<1$, which
seemingly masks the dynamical manifestation of the initial residual entropy of
the SYK fermions. The power-law scaling is expected to eventually break down
for $\tau\to\infty$, signaling a violation of adiabaticity, due to the residual
entropy present in the SYK fermions.

an atom of space-time-matter (STM). An STM atom is a classical non-commutative
geometry, based on an asymmetric metric, and sourced by a closed string.
Different such atoms interact via entanglement. The statistical thermodynamics
of a large number of such atoms gives rise, at equilibrium, to a theory of
quantum gravity. Far from equilibrium, where statistical fluctuations are
large, the emergent theory reduces to classical general relativity. In this
theory, classical black holes are far-from-equilibrium low entropy states, and
their Hawking evaporation represents an attempt to return to the (maximum
entropy) equilibrium quantum gravitational state.

early and late time cosmological applications. Cubic gravity is based on a
particular invariant $P$, constructed from cubic contractions of the Riemann
tensor, under three requirements: $(i)$ the resulting theory possesses a
spectrum identical to that of general relativity, $(ii)$ it is neither
topological nor trivial in four dimensions, and $(iii)$ it is defined such that
it is independent of the dimensions. Relaxing the last condition and
restricting the parameters of cubic gravity we can obtain second-order field
equations at a cosmological background. We show that at early times one can
obtain inflationary, de Sitter solutions, which are driven by an effective
cosmological constant constructed purely from the cubic terms of the simple
cubic or $f(P)$ gravity. Concerning late time evolution, the new terms
constitute an effective dark energy sector and we show that the universe
experiences the usual thermal history and the onset of late-time acceleration.
In the case of $f(P)$ gravity, depending on the choice of parameters, we find
that the dark-energy equation-of-state parameter can be quintessence-like,
phantom-like, or experience the phantom-divide crossing during the evolution,
even if an explicit cosmological constant is absent.

introduced. Noncommutative corrections on equations of motion of matter and
gauge fields are studied. We find that there are two kinds of corrections. The
first kind of correction involves derivatives of the matter field, and hence
contribute the ordinary Noether current. On the other hand, the second kind of
correction depends only on derivatives of the gauge fields, and hence
contribute anomalous magnetic and electric dipole moments of the matter field.
Moreover, experimental bounds on the noncommutative parameters for muon lepton
are studied in a simplified model.

Energy-Momentum Log Gravity (EMLG), constructed by the addition of the term

correction, to the Einstein-Hilbert action with cosmological constant
$\Lambda$. The choice of this modification is made as a specific way of
including new terms in the right-hand side of the Einstein field equations,
resulting in constant effective inertial mass density and, importantly, leading
to an explicit exact solution of the matter energy density in terms of
redshift. We look for viable cosmologies, in particular, an extension of the
standard $\Lambda$CDM model. EMLG provides an effective dynamical dark energy
passing below zero at large redshifts, accommodating a mechanism for screening
$\Lambda$ in this region, in line with suggestions for alleviating some of the
tensions that arise between observational data sets within the standard
$\Lambda$CDM model. We present a detailed theoretical investigation of the
model and then constrain the free parameter $\alpha'$, a normalisation of
$\alpha$, using the latest observational data. The data do not rule out the
$\Lambda$CDM limit of our model ($\alpha'= 0$), but prefers slightly negative
values of the EMLG model parameter ($\alpha'= -0.032\pm 0.043$), which leads to
the screening of $\Lambda$. We also discuss how EMLG relaxes the persistent
tension that appears in the measurements of $H_0$ within the standard
$\Lambda$CDM model.
