The printing of the complete report, German version (70 pages), on
PostScript printers expands the PDF file to
200 MByte and lasts about 20 minutes.
A
PostScript file of equal print quality with 30 MByte
PostScript (20 MByte compressed) has been
prepared by the DESY library to reduce the printing load by more than a
factor of 3.
This reduction has been achieved by converting the chapters separately to PostScript and concatenating the converted files. The resulting file may also be viewed by Ghostview in sequential mode, but random page access will generally fail (will work only within a chapter).
